Hey all!

On December 4th and 5th there was some few weak halos in Ostrava. I observed circumzenithal arc and parhelions. Here are some photos

:
4.12.2010 - weak CZA
5.12.2010(today) - weak PHA

Ahoj again Matěj,
re: PHA. Thanks for the clarification. I knew you couldn't have meant the parhelic arc. Still, your parhelia are peculiar in a way, because of their large vertical extent, which is a consequence of wobbling plate crystals. There is also an analogy of this for subparhelia.
Hopefully we can meet one of these days at a meeting. It is also discussed in AKM to maybe later revitalize the European halo meetings.
There are quite a few halo experts in Czechia who have logged quite a few phenomena in the mountains,
Do you have contact with any of these folks?
