Halos for eastern Finland (24th June 2014)

fyi,

there has been a lot of halos reported for today, especially for eastern Finland (beginning on the morning). Some rare halotypes also included. Display was visible on large area... And lasted for many hours. I did not have any photos of this, see reports in Taivaanvahti database:

Now in German: Kann mir einer verraten, wieso beim erstgenannten Link die "22°" Nebensonnen signifikant weiter außerhalb des 22°-Ringes liegen als beim zweiten Link, wo sie ziemlich genau auf den 22°-Ring fallen?
Oder anders ausgedrückt, spricht man eigentlich wirklich von 22°-Nebensonnen oder ist hier die 22°-Angabe eher irreführend, weil diese Nebensonnen zwar auf den 22°-Ring fallen können, aber nicht müssen, weil sie auch gerne mal weiter außerhalb liegen?
Mir fällt das schon lange auf, dass es Bilder gibt, wo beide Halos winkelmäßig zusammenfallen (so wie ich es auch schon öfter gesehen habe), bei manchen Bildern aber ein sehr deutlicher Winkelunterschied besteht.

Ah jetzt ja. Habe mir die Antwort gerade selbst angelesen: Der Abstand hängt von der Sonnenhöhe ab. Wie schön, dass es die AKM-Seite gibt .

Congratulation, I'm very impressed!
Have you seen the haloes in Cirrostratus or diamond dust. If Cirrostratus this phenomenon is even more unusual! I never seen Cirrus haloes in such a clearness and brightness!

Hey Folks,

I spent close to an hour looking at all the pic's taken of the display. I like the ones showing things like not only Wegener arc but the blue spot, subhelic arc, tricker arc and others. This display is like the one in May 14 all over again

It was actually an interesting day to follow images (even better would be to do it outside, but best show was in the east)

here is also from 24.6. See special brigtening near circumscribed halo on the left side of sun. Experts estimate, that it could be caused by electric field oriented crystals:

recently here was also marked as wegener and hastings arc as separated. I understood experts like Riikonen / Moilanen etc. analysed the images and found two arcs. In comments mentioned, that this case would be simulated.

Hey Timo,

I looked at the one where there was strong parry arc bright 46 arcs and yes there is a Hasting arc!! This looks like the first case of a Hasting arc observed in a high altitude cirrus cloud. Halo displays like this are my dream halos my last good halo was the recent pyramidal halo complex and it is posted on this forum
