2016-11-18 Reflection rainbows

Hello!

I've been reading your forum anonymously for a few years and finally decided to register. On Friday morning I could observe a reflection rainbow over Lake Zurich from Erlenbach ZH.

First photo taken with a mobile phone camera, 2016-11-18 08:10:47 CET:

When I took a better camera, the reflection rainbow already became fainter:

Both photos are unprocessed, except for scaling down. According to calsky.ch, the Sun azimuth was about 125° which is roughly parallel to Lake Zurich.

There are reports of a reflection rainbow from Sursee at Sempachersee on the Meteoschweiz blog (click to the 4th rainbow image) and on SRF (images 4 and 8). A webcam in Sursee also registered it (image from 08:00).

Hi Tomek,

welcome in the forum and thanks for sharing the pictures with us! You got a very nice reflected rainbow there, even the reflection of the second order is faintly visible in the first picture. Congratulations!
