...also ein Coronal Hole und zusätzlich kommt noch ex-10375 wieder ins Spiel. Hoffentlich besser, als ex-10365.

Last Update: 26 June 2003, 08:55 UTC (5:55 am EDT 26 June):

Aurora / Geomagnetic Activity Update:

Effects of a well placed solar coronal hole may begin to be observed over the
next 24 to 48 hours. Enhanced solar wind conditions associated with this
disturbance may promote the occurrence of minor auroral substorming over the
higher latitude regions. Some dark-sky middle latitude observers may observe
periods of activity associated with this disturbance over the next 3 to 5 days.

For additional information and discussion of real-time activity, visit our
discussion forum.

Solar Update:

Old active Region 375 is due to rotate around the eastern solar limb over the
next 2 to 3 days. A long-duration C-class flare was observed from a location
behind the eastern limb where old Region 375 should exist. M-class flare
activity will be possible along with attendant potentially impressive limb activity
in h-alpha. There may also be a slight chance of a major flare from this region
which was very large when it departed the west limb about 2 weeks ago.
