Last Update: 01 July 2003, 10:15 UTC (6:15 am EDT 01 July):
Aurora / Geomagnetic Activity Update: Geomagnetic activity is expected to gradually subside over the next 48 to 72 hours as the current coronal hole based disturbance weakens. Evidence of slowing solar wind velocities is already being observed. The middle latitude aurora watch is no longer active.

Solar Update: Active Region 397 is the largest and most complex spot group visible. It contains moderate magnetic complexity as well as a weak delta configuration in the central spots. C-class flare activity is expected to dominate from this region, with a slight chance of an isolated M-class flare over the next several days. Region 396 has decayed slightly over the last 24 hours, but may still contain the ability to produce an isolated M-class flare before it departs the west limb in approximately 3 days.
