A strong southward turning of the IMF has been observed over the last
several hours. Minor geomagnetic substorming is in-progress along with
attendant intensified auroral substorming. Major substorming is possible.
During substorm intervals, many mid-latitude sites may be able to spot
periods of activity. This disturbance has the potential of lasting another
12 to 18 hours (possibly longer if the anticipated coronal hole solar wind
stream begins to impinge on activity as well).
