Der Bericht gefällt mir, Tom scheint ein sehr sympatischer Mensch zu sein, und er muß auch auf den Schreiber des Artikels einen nachhaltigen Eindruck hinterlassen haben, sonst hätte man über so eine Preisverleihung auch ganz anders (langweiliger) schreiben können.
Schade dass man auf den Bildern nicht das "tripod and camera" erkennen kann, ohne die Tom angeblich gar nicht rumläuft. Der muß ja von PLS noch stäker ergriffen sein, als wir hier. Ob das an den nördlicheren Breitengraden liegt?

Ich glaube bei Tom liegt es eher daran, dass er zum ersten Mal aus seinem Ort weggekommen ist.
Ausserdem scheint PLS dann besonders schlimm zu werden, wenn man wie Tom seit mehr als einem Jahr (oder sinds schon 2) arbeitslos ist.
Der macht praktisch nichts anderes als sich mit seiner PLS auseinanderzusetzen.

The problem is that Tom doesn't understand German...he can't react!

i guess there's a missunderstood because of the languages.
Ulrich didn't make valuation about tom's job-situation.
For me it was at first a feeling of sorry for tom, as i read this.
I understood this in this way, that he has much time to spent with aurora (no matter if grieves him), for me it was a neutral message.
If Ulrich made this statement or not, I'm able to respect tom's work in photos.
You see, it's very hard for me, to say this in the right words.
I hope you get me right.

It is not relevant in judging his work, but I tend to agree with Ulrich that it is relevant in the context of PLD, just like it is relevant for my PLD that I have to go to work in the morning (maybe hard to believe if you look at the current time, but I slept in the afternoon

I still don't see the rudeness in it. After all, Tom doesn't keep it a secret that he is out of work (it's mentioned on his homepage, and that's as public as this forum). I am sure Ulrich didn't mean to be rude, and I hope Tom wouldn't understand it that way either.

Hi Leute, mein Englisch ist eher ne Katastrophe und so bleib ich bei dem was ich kann, Tschuldigung!
Ich kann beide Seiten irgenwo verstehen, Ich denke es ist nicht SInn und Zweck des Forums, das Privatleben und alles was damit zu tun hat hier hinaus zu plaudern. Ziel des Forums ist ja das Polarlicht und alles was damit zu tun hat. Natürlich haben einige der Teilnehmer viel Zeit, andere weniger, warum ist aber unwichtig. Wenn Tom keinen Job haben sollte, so interessiert das eigentlich niemanden. Ich glaube daher auch, das Ulrich das nicht in böser Absicht getan hat sondern eher mit einem zwinkernden Auge gemeint hat. Wenn ich den ganzen Tag nichts zu tun habe, egal ob ich Arbeitslos, Multimillionaer oder Renter und dann auch noch "so gut" bin wie beispielsweise Tom, dann sollte ein neidvoller Blick gestattet sein. Sollte ich irgendwann in Schweden wohnen und PL sehen wenn es hier in Deutschland schon hell ist, wird man auch sagen, der alte Sack hat den ganzen Tag auch nichts anderes zu tun. Recht haben Sie und ich würde darüber ein wenig schmunzeln, weil es eigentlich ein klein wenig Neid aber auch Anerkennung ist. Und ich denke im Bezug auf Tom darf Neid und Annerkennung erlaubt sein, hinsichtlich seine Erfahrungen.
Mir fallen in dem Zusammenhang die Kraft's ein, die von einem Vulkan zum anderen geflogen sind. Ich möchte das am liebsten auch, kann es aber nicht. Meinen Respekt haben sich solche Menschen wie die Kraft's jedenfalls verdient und ich denke das gilt auch für Tom. Egal ob er oder Katja, die ja ebenfalls hervorragende Bilder liefert, in Lohn und Brot stehen oder Rentner sind. Ich denke wir sind uns in diesem Punkt alle einig oder habe ich etwas falsches gesagt?
