Last Update: 18 March 2003, 12:12 UTC (7:12 am EST 18 March):
Aurora / Geomagnetic Activity Update:
Auroral activity continues at moderately active levels over the high
latitudes. Some middle latitudes may spot isolated periods of activity.
However, the full phase of the moon will drown out a considerable amount of
activity.
Solar Update:
Another major class X-class solar flare is in-progress at the time of this
writing (the second X-class flare in under 24 hours). It is originating from
Region 314. Although it is still very early in the event, it appears this
flare has peaked at a class X1.5 level (the same intensity as the last
X-class flare Region 314 produced).
