Aurora / Geomagnetic Activity Update:
Solar wind has increased to near 800 km/sec as effects of a well placed
solar coronal hole begin to affect the Earth. One strong auroral substorm
appears to have been observed over eastern North America around 10:00 UTC.
Although similar substorms may be observed at infrequent times over the next
24 hours, most of the activity is expected to be only modestly active.
Solar Update:
There are no significant active regions visible on the Sun at the present
time. A new active region is expected to rotate into view around the
northeast limb of the Sun over the next 24 to 48 hours.
