Last Update: 25 April 2003, 10:55 UTC (6:55 am EDT 25 April):
Aurora / Geomagnetic Activity Update:
Generally active conditions are expected through the next 24 to 72 hours.
Effects of a well placed solar coronal hole combined with possible effects
of a coronal mass ejection may produce periods of minor geomagnetic storm
activity and associated auroral substorm activity.
Solar Update:
Newly numbered Region 346 produced a class M1.2/(est. 1N) solar flare at
05:40 UTC today. The event was associated with a fairly impressive dual
surge in H-alpha imagery (see www.spacew.com/sunnow). Regions 344 and 345
appear to be undergoing rapid growth. M-class flare activity may be possible
from Regions 344, 345, 346 and 338.
