Subject: Build 106 of SWIM is now Available
The latest and greatest build of SWIM (Space Weather Information Monitor) - Build 106 is now available to all owners of SWIM, again,
free of charge. SWIM is fully described at: http://www.spacew.com/swim
This latest build includes several notable improvements. Most notably is a revamped image processing engine that should substantially
decrease the amount of work the hard-drive does - which should therefore substantially decrease the time required to perform a full
refresh on all image resources.
The Live Data Window has also been expanded from 3 lines to 6 lines by moving the UTC time clock from the main window to the
caption area of the software. So minimizing SWIM will now display up to 6 lines of real-time data instead of 3.
There are other changes as well - some aren't visible - others are subtle. For example, the designation of the primary and secondary
spacecraft for energetic solar protons was changed in late June. This revision includes these changes.
All owners of SWIM can download the new revision by sending: STD@Spacew.Com a note requesting the revision along with a copy
of your software serial number (click on the Copyright tab to see the serial number).
For those who don't yet use SWIM - you might want to consider grabbing a copy. You won't regret it. It's a great software package not
just for space weather applications, but also for monitoring just about any other Internet image resource. For example, you can monitor
current thunderstorm activity, weather maps, radar images, satellite imagery, etc., and immediately display movies of that activity, etc.
Almost any internet image that dynamically changes over time can be monitored.
SWIM is now half-price as well.
