On the DMS web (Dutch Meteor Society)the following report has been posted:
An extremely bright fireball has been sighted over large parts of western-Europe on saturday evening october 27 at around 19:20 UT.
More detailed reports and maps showing the trajectory of the fireball will be published at this website.
A first notice is sent to pressoffices throughout the Netherlands by Arnold Tukkers of the Public Observatory "Cosmos" at Lattrop. (see below)

Date : october 27, 2001
Time : 19:20 UT
Duration : about 3 seconds
Magnitude : about full moon (-14)
Color(s) : white and green has been reported most, more details later.
Location : to be determined yet but probably to the north from the Netherlands over the North-sea?
Velocity : to be determined
Stream : probably a Taurid but we are still investigation...
Fragmentation : to be determined
Sounds : not known yet
Spacedebris : almost certainly not because of to high speed
