Hi Lydia
This indeed is activity, but it is rather the earth reacting.
In March and September the position of the Earth is favorable to incoming electric solar particles.
And I think the influence of coronal holes was also important for the recent activity.
It is a pitty the moon is so bright now. I must confess that I don't even check solar activity on a regular base now when the weather is so clouded and the moon is out.
I'm working on images from last season at the moment, and also preparing for the next season of dark skies.
(Which might come soon, I hope)
Greetings, your webservice is getting very professional!

Ha die Jan!

The reacting of earth has been very strange then last 2 weeks ;o)
What i meant is that i found 2 satelite pictures from IMAGE wo ARE uptodate. And they were showing a nice ring, althought only low to moderate activity.
I forget the save the first ones. The ring was a bit more over Scandinavian and brighter in the further pictures.
Someone near Lelystad thinks he has seen it. I thought there were 2 reports but it was from the same person. When Kiruna went down for the second time another guy went out near Nijmegen. He thinks he has seen a red glow, which was gone later. He made pictures, so we will see. This was about after 0.00UT, when we first found out about the IMAGE pictures. The guy from Lelystad did not make pictures.
Others from Holland came back telling they didnt see it.
