Moderately strong shock has been detected by the ACE spacecraft near 02:40
UTC. Impact with the magnetosphere is anticipated near 03:26 UTC (11:26 pm
EDT on 27 October). A strong southward turning of the IMF has been
associated with the initial passage of the shock. If southward conditions
persist, major auroral storming may commence in the forthcoming hours.
