Ulrich, I would very much appreciate an in depth report from you on what kind of magnetic situation 9690 is.
I was wondering this evening how on earth magnetograms of the solar surface are made in different wavelengths. DLXC is speaking of a ribbon and things like that; what behaviour leads to an outburst??

And I must add, I rather be in a Terschelling dark forest without Aurora and smelling the mushrooms in the trees and having owls wonder if I am a "resident animal", than seeing a storm with far away city-lights on the mainland.
