Hi

There is a 832 x 624 image now at

http://www.angelfire.com/movies/timelap ... cscrs.html

Why exactly this size?

Further, the 16/3.5 Nikkor full frame is one of the best if not the best Nikkor lens available. It is much and much better than the 16/2,8 ff fisheye and even 1/3 cheaper (2nd hand in splendid condition about Eu 450). On the same page as above you can see another pic of aurora with the near full moon (3-4) days after full in the frame without any problems.
It is my only lens that I dare to use at night full open.

The Purus and its mounting are getting better. Last two clear nights nights (last night and night before that were clouded out) I only had a 25 % good pics (3 out of four): mainly due to the polar finder being misaligned after transport.
I've got two wide angle cameras now on it that simultanously cover different parts of the sky. I plan to still be here for 20 nights, so I can cover a good part of the sky if I'm lucky. It is good that I could buy a large amount of fresh pro film at a good price because bringing a Supra 800 to the shop with only two exposed frames per roll hurts a little.

Strange thing with Der Spiegel, those guys are both stupid and very clever at the same time. I only posted the URL on the AKM site, so they must have gotten it through the AKM site. Spaceweather didn't post my pic until Sunday night.

Clear Skies!

Yesterday, there was a article in a little local newspaper, called "Mindener Tageblatt", with your picture

Hi Benjamin and Peter

It is indeed a violation of my copyright. Since about a year I am attached to na small Dutch picture agency that specializes in meteorological pictures (Weather Pictures International, run by a meteorolgist).

I've asked him to contact DPA; they have to pay for this. After all, me and you have to pay for their newspapers also.

I always thought that the 600 pixels wide pics on my site were to small to publish on paper ....

Thanks for calling my attention!
