Subject: I FINALLY saw it!

I went outside but did NOT see the aurora. Disappointed, I came in and had a beer. I went out again, still, no aurora, but there were some scattered clouds. I decided to come in and have a couple more beers and went back out. STILL no aurora. With the clouds increasing, I figured I better keep watching, so after having another beer, I again ventured outside. No aurora, though as I stumbled and bumped my head on the way out the door I think I saw a few stars. Now I was really disappointed, yet determined, though still no aurora and my beers gone. I decided, after downing a few wine coolers, that I would try again. It really is clouding up and I know something astronomical is about to happen because I can feel the Earth rotating - I guess I never realized how hard that makes it to stand sometimes. I have to admit, I was about to give up. A half hour later, after finishing that 4-pack of Jack Daniels coolers, I went back outside. It took a while because I couldn't remember how to get outside and I SWEAR the Earth's rotation was enhanced by what I was SURE was the aurora. As I regained consciousness on my back in my yard, and looking up into the sky, I was STUNNED at the display of lights I saw ! Blues and greens and reds streaking across the sky. It was INCREDIBLE. What REALLY astounded me was how vivid the aurora was, EVEN AS IT RAINED HEAVIER AND HEAVIER on me! I guess I say "CHINS UP" to you, my fellow sky-gazers. All you need is a little patience and a LOT of beer!
