Hi.

I had aurora here on the 23th of september. A rather cloudy evening and only three pics were made.

On one of them is this flash and I wonder what it is.
Is it a satellite flash or a meteor. I belive it is a satellite flash any of you who have another opinion?

You can answer in german if you want too, I understand german rather good:-))

According to Heavens-above.com it was...

...Iridium 59 with -7 magnitudes.
Altitude was 23 degrees, azimuth was 38 degree (NE).
The time of flaring was 21:55:21 CEST.
Here is the link to that flare: http://www.heavens-above.com/iridium.as ... 3333&Dur=2
And the Link to Heavens-above and the location Stockholm:

The orbital parameters of these satellites change sometimes daily, so the times and brightness estimation of these flares in the past may not be very exact. But at least the satellite number should be ok.
To find Iridium flares and ISS passes in the future with timing down to the second try to get you exect coordinates from a good map and enter them to Heavens-above.
Hope you will get some more nice shots of Iridium flares and aurora soon.
