APAVA - windvd und alte Hardware?

Hallo,

zuerst einmal Danke an Sven für die Arbeit und den schnellen Versand.

Leider gibt es wohl ein Problem mit meiner Hardware(?).

Windvd bricht gleich nach den Hinweisfenstern am Anfang mit einer Fehlermeldung ab (ungültige Anweisung). Ich dachte, bei alter Hardware läuft's vielleicht nur ruckelig, aber anscheinend geht es gar nicht. Gibt es zu dem Thema eine Newsgroup, oder weiss jemand hier, an welcher Komponente es da (besonders) hakt?

Pentium 166; ATI Graphics Pro Turbo; Toshiba CD-ROM XM-6602B

Virenscanner, Firewal RealPlayer und ähnliches ist alles ausgeschaltet.

(Hoffentlich kömmt das neue (gebrauchte) P/S 2 Keyboard bald, ich hab noch einen PII rumstehen, bloss noch keine Tastatur dafür)

Eine Newsgroup kenne ich leider jetzt aus dem Kopf heraus nicht.
Hast Du DirectX bei Dir mal installiert? Oder relativ aktuelle Treiber (vor allem Grafikkarte)?

Probier es sonst mal auf der Homepage http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Home.jsp und lade Dir da die neuste WinDVD als Trial runter und probiere mal, ob es damit läuft.

Ich selbst werde mich mal im DVD-Entwicklerforum umhören...

I've been wondering If I can make my old 386 with 60 MB HD amd only 4 MB of Ram to play video in loops. There are so many old ones unused that still could work for years.
If I could get them to play moving images, I think it would be easy to get ten or more for free, paint them all with starry skies, have dripping candles on top of their monitors and have a different aurora clip looping on each of them. Could be a nice exibition.

My last message re the 20/1.8 seems to be lost but one of my cats will choose the contributant to whom I will send the print.

That sounds very romantic!

That sounds like a good random choice program. Many years ago (during a school break, when we wanted to play Backgammon and didn't have a dice) I wrote a simple random choice program to simulate a dice on my calculator. We didn't have a cat.

Thanks a lot for contributing your picture! I like that picture a lot, because it's not just a nice picture of the aurora like so many others, but is based on an original idea and is a good and balanced picture.
