Two nice rainbows in one day

[Michael Ellestad]

Hello to all,

I have been waiting and finally I get good rainbows. The first one was a low profile or what I call a flat rainbow which had nice supernummeries. A couple hours later another rainshower was beginning to pass and I ran to the top of the hill and made over 50 image of a spectcaular complete double rainbow!! I got pics using the wide angle lens to get both bows in one frame then I got some of the primary bow continuing below the horizon in front of the wooded hills then for the first time I got a nice example of the so called rainbow wheel when anticrepuscular rays formed the spokes while the rainbow form the rim.

Just posted some images in the STD gallery see them here!!!:)

Dennis,

I agree those anticrepuscular rays were very impressive perhaps the best I have seen and to be inside a rainbow is even better!!

I will be putting some of those on my site but don't know when I wanted to do it last night but it was 11:30 and I was tired.

Greetings from the USA,

Michael
