Am ACE ging eben der Speed von knapp 400 auf über 500 km/s, IMF hat auch 'nen kleinen Implus zu verzeichnen. Naja, von den Dichte-Werten rede ich aber lieber nicht

Last Update: 01 February 2003, 14:25 UTC (11:25 am EST 01 February):
Aurora / Geomagnetic Activity Update:
A strong high velocity solar wind stream (> 800 km/sec) has begun buffetting
the Earth's magnetosphere. This disturbance was associated with a small
shock front, observed by ACE near 13:06 UTC. Impact of this shock at the
Earth was observed near 13:37 UTC, resulting in a very weak enhancement in
ground magnetometer field strengths. This disturbance may be related to the
coronal mass ejection associated with a filament eruption on 30 January.
A middle latitude auroral activity watch may be issued soon. Conditions at
the present time are not condusive to producing enhanced auroral activity.
Solar Update:
A new active region is rounding the southeastern solar limb. It has already
been responsible for producing one minor M-classs solar flare at 09:06 UTC
earlier today (01 February). Additional M-class activity is possible from
this active region.
